We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Farm Supervisors to oversee daily operations and manage personnel in Canada. The Farm Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring efficient and productive farming activities while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Operations: Oversee and coordinate daily farm activities, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, pest control, and livestock management, to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to production schedules.
  2. Personnel Management: Supervise and direct farm laborers, equipment operators, and other staff members, providing guidance, instruction, and support to ensure efficient performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  3. Resource Allocation: Allocate resources such as labor, equipment, materials, and supplies effectively to optimize productivity, minimize waste, and achieve farm goals within budgetary constraints.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance and repairs of farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure, scheduling inspections, servicing, and repairs as needed to ensure operational readiness and safety.
  5. Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality standards for crops, livestock, and farm products, implementing measures to prevent contamination, spoilage, and non-compliance with regulations.
  6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including crop yields, livestock inventory, equipment usage, and labor hours, and prepare reports for management, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders as required.
  7. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards when handling machinery, chemicals, and livestock, and promote a culture of safety among farm staff through training, awareness, and enforcement.
  8. Problem Solving: Identify and address issues and challenges related to farming operations, such as equipment breakdowns, weather disruptions, pest infestations, and market fluctuations, and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks and minimize losses.
  9. Environmental Stewardship: Implement sustainable farming practices and environmental conservation measures to protect natural resources, minimize environmental impact, and promote biodiversity on the farm.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in farm management or supervisory role, with knowledge of crop production, livestock husbandry, and agricultural practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and maintain high standards of performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, vendors, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, agricultural laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
